Thanks so much for your help. I was more than a little apprehensive about hiring an interior designer for the first time. As you know, I have a modest home with a ‘down home’ style and I was really bent thinking about a hoity toity designer saying, basically, ‘Throw it all out and get this page on X magazine, its fabulous.’ I could do that. Instead, on meeting you, my issues about that vanished and we concentrated on functionality. You were very friendly, very professional, with zero condescension. The suggestions you made were rock solid and have survived the scrutiny of family and friends. There’s too much going on at my house for it to be a museum, so I appreciate the non-fluff advice. If you could help me, I don’t doubt you could easily help folks that want something high end.

I have never loved the house my husband and I purchased nine years ago, but Theresa changed that for me. Originally, I contacted Theresa to patch a couch that my three-year old son sheared, but because I felt so comfortable with her and because she was interested in providing me with a room that I would be comfortable in, the project progressed to an entire new family room. With remodeling projects, I often feel overwhelmed and need to take baby steps, and I have found that with Theresa no job is too big or too small. Since the sheared couch, she has replaced all of the blinds in my house, and we are presently preparing to renovate the kitchen. I have often told her that I will never use anyone else for my redecorating needs - even if my family relocated out of the country. Consider your home in safe hands with Theresa.

All About Interiors did a home renovation job for us, and we were highly pleased with the results as well as with the process. The job scope was extensive. Short of moving walls and revising built-ins, we pretty much redid the entire interior of our residence – replaced floors, repainted walls & woodwork, used new wall colors, installed beautiful new window treatments, replaced kitchen countertops/cooktop/sink, refurnished with a mix of new furniture, custom furniture, and existing furniture, etc.
Theresa McGowen directed the entire effort from conceptual design and cost estimating to making arrangements with contractors and monitoring their work, purchasing materials and furnishings, disbursing payments, and coordinating schedules. She very patiently went over the design with us repeatedly making sure we were satisfied with both appearance and cost. She exercised budget discipline throughout the project cycle – as an example she used as much of our existing furniture as possible consistent with achieving the new look we wanted to accomplish. We think she is a exceptionally talented interior designer and a good project manager. On the few occasions problems did arise, Theresa took responsibility at once to resolve them to our satisfaction. She displayed integrity from start to finish.
Now that the project is complete, we are so glad we did it. Our home really has a pleasing new look. When friends and family visit, they tell us how much more attractive the project made our home look.
Our only regret is not having Theresa help us on all those prior DIY refurbishings that never yielded exactly what we were seeking. The first thing Theresa did was interview us, learned what we liked, assessed what our space could accommodate, and came up with a design layout that works beautifully. We are so pleased.
